Liquidity
Will people be able to trade it? A token with no pool has no price and nowhere to change hands. Pairing part of the supply with SOL opens one, and that pair sets the opening price.

It is SOL, not tokens: your supply goes in as you set it, and the extra SOL opens the token 15% above what the pair alone would — the price and the market cap below already include it.
Authorities
Each authority is a power that comes with the mint. Revoking is permanent and publicly verifiable — you cannot undo it after launch.
Freeze authority
Lets you freeze a holder's token account. Revoked, no one — including you — can ever lock a holder out.
Mint authority
Lets you create more supply after launch. Revoked, the supply is capped forever. It is the first thing holders check.
Update authority
Lets you change the name, symbol and icon later. Revoked, the token's identity is frozen as it is.
